Checking Services Why do some places charge YOU to have a checking account with them? At Empower there is no monthly maintenance fee or minimum balance requirements. If your balance is above $300, you will earn our base checking interest rate for that day. If your balance is above $2,500, you will earn our Plus checking interest rate for that day. By maintaining a balance of $300 or more each day of the month, you will not be assessed any ATM / Debit Card fees. If your balance falls below $300, you will receive three free ATM / Debit Card transactions and be charged $0.50 for each additional ATM / Debit Card transaction. Empower is also a member of ALLIANCE ONE, a network of credit unions working together to provide free ATM access for its members. For a listing of all participating ALLIANCE ONE credit unions and ATM locations check www.allianceone.coop. Both Checking Accounts have many other features for your convenience. For example, you can set up Direct Deposit or Payroll Deduction and have your paycheck or a portion of it electronically deposited to save you time. You can also set up Automatic withdrawals from your account for your recurring monthly expenses such as your utilities, insurance and cable to mention a few. You can also use your VISA Debit Card to make purchases. It works like a checkbook, but without the hassle of writing checks. Your Visa Debit Card also gives you ATM access. Our Voice Response Service and Online Banking System are like having a teller at home. With this service you can conduct many of the transactions you would with a teller in our office. By using a touch tone telephone or your computer, you can do such things as: check balances, transfer money, make loan payments, see what checks have cleared, including images. even stop payment on a check (touch tone teller only). All from the convenience of any touch tone phone, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by calling 1-800-436-3941 or sign up for Online Banking now to get your password. An additional feature of your Empower Credit Union checking account is that you get to use our FREE Bill Payment system. You can pay all your bills 24 hours a day, 7 days a week online! You can set it up to pay one-time bills or schedule regular payments to be processed on the days you choose. You can also make transfers between different bank and credit union accounts. The Bill Pay system is integrated with our Online Banking system.
